A message from the artist, Marshall S. Upson
Hello and welcome to my world of wonderment. The jewelry that I create are one-of-a-kind, signature pieces that, I can assure you, will never be seen or worn be anyone but you. The stones that I obtain and cut are truly individuals; it is rare to find two that are exactly the same. Great Spirit has given me a wonderful gift; the ability to dream and create exquisite gifts of jewelry art. While growing up in the foothills of Colorado, I was continually inspired by the awesome beauty of the Rocky Mountains. When living on the Hawaiian Island of Maui, my inspiration came from the Goddess Pele, while being surrounded by the realm of Poseidon. You will see and feel this inspiration in my work, ever changing, always evolving.
Jewelry art has been loved and coveted, created and fashioned from the gifts provided to us by Mother Earth, ever since the inhabitants of this Earth were compelled to adorn ourselves for reasons only known to the wearer. These precious accouterments have been fought for and pillaged, traded for and hoarded, sometimes forgotten but always cherished. Jewelry does not sustain life, jewelry encompasses love and gifting, whether the gift is to ourselves or to those close to us.
I use all natural materials, including sterling silver and 10kt gold. Each of the stones I use have been specially selected and cut to enhance it's own natural beauty; many of the cabochons and fossils used are actually cut by my own hands. Each piece has been polished to a gleaming finish and signed by the artist. I rarely duplicate any of my designs so you can be assured that each creation is truly a one-of-a-kind.
Jewelry has an energy that links the wearer to all that Mother Earth provides. Such beauty does not deserve to be tucked away in a dark jewelry box. Wear your jewelry, share it's energy, display it for all to enjoy. These precious creations were meant to be loved, enhancing the beauty of the wearer. The jewelry art I create is meant to be a focal point, a conversation piece, a treasured family heirloom. The love that I pour into each signature piece can only be matched by the love that is conveyed by the person who gives it. Thank you for sharing my journey and I truly hope you enjoy my continuing dream.
